About University Web Score
We're on a mission to make higher education more accessible by providing transparency into how well university websites serve students with disabilities.
Our Mission
Every student deserves equal access to educational resources, regardless of their abilities. University Web Score provides automated accessibility testing and transparent reporting to help institutions identify and fix barriers that prevent students with disabilities from accessing critical information and services.
By making accessibility data public, we encourage universities to prioritize digital inclusion and create more equitable learning environments for all students.
How We Test Accessibility
Automated Scanning
Our system automatically crawls university websites and runs comprehensive accessibility tests based on WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.
Comprehensive Analysis
We test for color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and other critical accessibility factors.
Transparent Reporting
Results are published publicly to encourage improvement and help students make informed decisions about their education.

Understanding Our Scores
Highly accessible with minimal barriers
Generally accessible with minor issues
Some accessibility barriers present
Significant accessibility improvements needed
Important Limitations
Our automated testing provides valuable insights but cannot catch all accessibility issues. Manual testing by users with disabilities and accessibility experts is still essential for comprehensive evaluation.
- • Some barriers require human judgment to identify
- • Scores should be used as a starting point, not a complete assessment
- • Regular manual audits are recommended for full compliance
